How do I add USB ports into Printer Ports?
Trying to install HP1320. using USB. It installs toport DOT4_001 and won't print anything. I've tried multiple USB ports and am using a new USB cable. I've seen the issue on the internet in other forums but don't know how to fix it. I need this doen ASAP. Any help is apprecitaed.

We need to take a step back.
Make sure the printer is uninstalled.
Then select Restart.
Log on.
Log off and restart again.
Install the printer per the manufacturers directions.
Some printers require the software to be installed prior to the printer being connected to the system.
Once the printer is installed test.
If the test fails, go into Device Manager and locate the Universal Serial Bus Controllers (Towards the bottom of the menu).
Expand this to see if your printer is listed and listed without yellow exclamation marks, etc.

Are you saying that when you update the driver you can assign the port through device manager? Sorry if I', not getting a basic concept but I'm not familiar with having to troubleshoot hardware install issues. I installed off the full downalod from HP. there were just drivers on the site as well for this printer model. Should I download and update the driver pointing to these new ones and assign the USB port?
The uininstall didn't work but I may not have done the reboot. I spent all day working on this with other problems and can't remember. I'll try it again.
