"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

use EasyBCD http://neosmart.net/dl.php?id=1 or VistaBootPro http://www.vistabootpro.org/ to repair and configure the vista boot loader, Dual boot VISTA

I hope this helps !

BCDedit is a cmd that you can execute from the DOS prompt, run it and if you see XP entry then you can use the /default or other switches to change the boot behavior.  SysExpert suggestions are great tools to use too.
