OfficeConnect ADSL Wireless 11g Firewall Router settings

My boss has a OfficeConnect ADSL Wireless 11g Firewall Router. I have set it up to give him secured  wireless internet access. It seems to be working fine but , he cannot get internet access through his ISP (BT Broadband) he keeps getting page cannot be displayed .  On the web interface , under internet settings it says status Disconnected. Is there a section where I have to enter his ISP details or how do I get it to connect ?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

On the WAN settings page there should be options for different types of connection. A (A)DSL connection may be PPPoE or PPTP or something else. The router WAN side should very probably be set to obtain an IP from the ISP (a DHCP client).

Usually the ISP's provide info about router or network interface settings that should be used.

Also, is the modem working correctly?

I changed the PPPoE protocol to PPPoA and it now works .

Hmm.

I'm not worrying about my points here, but earlier the grading system was used to handle such questions where the expert comment wasn't dead on, but helped the thought process of the asker on towards a solution. If the asker had the idea to change the setting before I posted, I'd suggest a delete and refund, otherwise it will look a bit odd, this thread. If my post caused the asker to think and/or to test different settings, I was helpful and should probably have a B or C grade award.

It's no big deal anyway, I'll accept any outcome.

WHAT! The comment about closing, refunding and accepting the askers own answer as the solution is not visible anymore; my above comment seems insane without the cause for it. Bug??
