Computers Don't Show on Workgroup

I have a network of about 15 Windows 98 machines.  For years everything was running without problems, but since a few weeks back, I've gotten the problem that the Network Neighborhood shows up empty on all the machines.  Changing the workgroup name on all the computers fixes the problems for a few days, and then returns.
All PCs got static IP's in the same range (192.168.0.~), NetBUIE is installed on all PCs, File Sharing is enabled on all systems.

Hope someone can help me with this one.

Thanks

is your router, working correctly?
do you change anything on any of them (software, hardware) right before the problem started?

If your router in a Netgear DG834G you could consider trying a reboot, even if there is nothing 'apparantly wrong' with it.

It seems there was a user who decided to plug his XP Laptop into the network, wreaking havok...  Installed NetBUEI on the XP Laptop, and my problems was solved.
