T1 LINE AUTHENTICATION

Hi all,

We have a T1 line from primus Canada, we are seeing sever speed issues, latency, we are using a sico 1841 supplied by Primus and we have a CISCO PIX firewall.

Now, how can I check that the T1 Line is a real T1 line and not a PPPOE or a ADSL or IDSL line or for that matter anything but T1.

Secondly, how can we check for speed issues if it is a T1 line.

We were in fact planning to change the router itslef to our own , coz we want to know how this could speed up, PRIMUS is not at all cooperative in this regard, they are trying to delay this as much as possible. They even commented, they have to authenticate the T1 with a radius server, which in my mind brings doubt of whether is this realluy a T1

please suggest, any help would be highly appreciated.

Which local telco company installed the T1, I would tell them your issues and see if they can give you more information about the line and also maybe they can come out to do testing.  TBERD is a pretty expensive piece of equipment, but will do the job as well.  Problem is usually only telco companies have them.
