Need to disable the group policy on my laptop to enable Sound

My Dell laptop was configured with Group Policy settings, I came overseas and not in domain now. But still the group policy settings are in effect. With some registry changes I made Ineternet Explorer to work. I would like to have sound enabled on this laptop. Drivers and everything fine but when I go to control panel ->Sounds and Audio devices all the tabs are disabled. How to enable them back. Please help.

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.
