VPN and connecting to shares no network provider accepted the given network path
I got a Branch Office connected via an Astaro Firewall VPN
The Branch has a Windows Server 2003 R2 SP2, and Windows XP SP2 Clients in the network.
Within this network, all shares can be accessed.
Wehn I try to connect to a share on the Headquarter server, the message "no network provider accepted the given network path" appears, but can ping the server and nslookup is working fine.
Sometimes it works and stops immediately, then, no Replication is also possible.
Firewall rulkes are OK, cause it works from time to time...
Any ideas?

Can you access the shares by ip address of hq server? such as: \\192.168.1.10\share instead of \\servername\share ?

It appears you have advanced knowledge of VPN networks. There are a lot of issues that could result in intermittant comms on a VPN network. So, I think this link will help you.

If you ask me, I think your problem is one of three things:
1) Portfast is off
2) The mode of operation is different between the routers and switches, You may have cisco swtiches set to 100mb full duplex and a cisco router set to auto negotiate. It's a cisco quirk, but they will not negotiate and you will get intermittant comms.
3) or some other form of NIC flooding:
If it were me, I think I would use a single NIC VPN that the THECLEANER suggested.
