pushing smartboard.msi through group policy

I am trying to ppublish an install for our smartboard through group policy.  they provided and MSI to use.  when I publish it and my non-admins go through add/remove programs they get and error, that ie5 or later needs to be installed.  I asked the company and they said this is a misleading error and the problem is the user does nothave rights make reg changes.  This is all correct, as the user is a non-admin, but since I am publishing through group policy doesn't this give elevated rights for this install?

No, it does not. Maybe making domain users power users on the workstation would be enough.

Also consider setting "Always install with elevated privileges" in group policy/computer configuration/adm templates/installer.

I'm closing this q with no resolution as it's a problem with the smartboard software package.

Objection. The question was "since I am publishing through group policy doesn't this give elevated rights for this install?" , and it was answered.
