Forwarding email by rule and exclude the attachment, if any
I want to create a rule to forward all inbound email. The tricky part is that the rule forwards the mail message only and exclude attachments if any to save storage space.

Got you. Then can anything be done on the receiving end? The receiving mailbox is set up for tracking email volume of multiple mailboxs. To minimize the storage requirement of the receiving mailbox, I would like a server-based rule of the receiving mailbox, which automatically delete the all inbound mail items.
Create a rule that fires for every message and select the "delete it" action.

I am sorry. Delete the attachment only. I need to keep mail items so that a software application will read it automatically and delete it.

There is no rule option for forwarding a message without its attachments. You could do it by having the rule fire a script, but scripts are client-only. They do not work with server-side rules. Client-side scripts only work when Outlook is open and running.
