XP Wireless Internet Connection/Linksys Adapter

I just installed Windows XP Home Edition on a well equipped computer (> 2GHz, 2 G RAM, etc).  I installed an access point, Wireless G Linksys 2.4 G/802.11 gUSB Network Adapter.  It connects to my WEP encrypted network fine but says it has little or no Internet connectivitiy.

If I go to Network Connections in the Control Panel I have the following icons

1394 Connection
Wirteless Network Connection
Local Area Connection with a big RED X (Network cable unplugged...)

How do I get an Internet connection to work?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Do you have any other wireless devices in your house running of your wireless router?  If yes then I would say you may want to reinstall your drivers.  If you don't then I would connect to the router via an ethernet (network) cable and see if you can get to the internet.  We need to see if the issue is coming from the router or your computer.
