Windows Vista does not see harddrive when trying to install in VMWARE ESX 3.5

Quite a wierd one this, I am trying to install Windows Vista in a VM on an ESX 3.5 host, I boot from the ISO image fine but when   Windows set-up comes to selecting a drive it does not find one. I had previously created a 16GB hard disk during the initial set-up of the Virtual machine and of course selected Windows Vista 32bit as the guest OS.
Has anyone come across this ? or know of a solution? I have the exact same issue with Windows XP. All other flavours of Windows install fine

I need to clarify, actually Vista does work, XP doesn't yes I have tried chainging from iSCSI to ISE and vice versa to no avail. Could it be down to the new version of ESX and Windows XP not being compatable?
I would delete the virtual machine and start from scratch
Done that three times already still no joy

I am having the exact same issue... XP Professional does not detect a virtual disk via BusLogic or LSI Logic.  Very odd.  tried a couple different versions too.    Probably will have to call VMware support on Monday if I don't find something this weekend
This article fixed my problem with Windows XP....  once I used the VMware BusLogic driver with the virtual floppy image it detected fine.

Didn't need to do that before, must be something with 3.5!
