Audio not streaming in IE7

When I play an online MP3 file using IE7, the audio will now not play back in WMP until the complete file has downloaded.

Any ideas how I can get IE7/WMP11 to start streaming audio again?

Thanks

Danny

Could be the site or your internet is too slow to stream directly?
Some sites are experiencing very slow access as well.
Try another media player and see if there is a difference, there is many bugs with WMP11 and Vista.

My average internet speed is approx 4mb/s. The problem exists with all websites and all browsers

When did this problem start?
Did you update some drivers for your mainboard? Audio or video?
The fact your using WMP to stream coudl be a bug in there.
Does it happen when streaming using the web page inbuilt player such as flash?

What's it like on youtube?
This one of my favourites tracks and will use it, since this clip has no real video just a still image it maybe good to test your audio speed if its WMP or the web.

The problem does not occur with embedded media players. It only happens when the website has a direct link to an mp3 file and then opens up wmp as a stand-alone player.
Now new drivers installed recently. WMP has always streamed perfectly in the past.
All Youtube clips stream perfectly

Thanks

I dont believe it's problem Danny, some sites with heavy traffic are slow, so it looks like WMP is saving the file to a temp so it can be played fully, might alos be the way that site has setup streaming if the streams are big.
It also depends on the stream bitrates.
Being a Winamp user I have my winamp open on my desktop streaming all day long when I am here.
Some sites have to buffer all the time in order to stream which indicates high traffic on their end as I have a fast DSL.

Snap included of winamp media library shoutcast streams> to show the bitrates choices.
 I prefer  128 KB.
The site I stream from that works flawlessly  is Soma FM and you can choose which bitrate is best.
Just to show you what I mean
Listen: MP3: 128k 56k 24k
Windows Media: 128k 32k
http://somafm.com/
If you could provide the URL to this site I'll test it.
Does it offer a bitrate choice?
Choose a slower bitrate.

The same files on the same websites that used to stream perfectly now do not stream. The is therefore definately a configuration issue on my PC.

according microsoft
the file will download first before playing because the file associations are set wrong...
set program defaults and made sure .wmv is defaulted to WMP 11
into the default program settings and check  >auto play settings and made sure WMP is set for video files.
