8mm tape to digital on a laptop

Wondering if it is possible to transfer old 8mm tape video to digital on a laptop.  I have seen an Asus A7SV laptop that has a built in TV-tuner card and was wondering if it is possible.  I would like to be able to transfer all old holiday video to a digital format on a laptop.

Any input greatly appreciated.

It is possible and I have done it.  I used a video capture card and the 8mm camera I have has a yellow RCA out jack.  I was able to pug this into the yellow input on my video capture card and use the software that came with the card to record it.  You can generally record any video that you can stream to the inputs on a video capture card.  I am not sure you can do it with your tuner card, but I know it can be done with an ATI all in wonder tuner card.  I have seen USB video capture cards for laptops, so this would be easily done with any existing PC or laptop at relatively low cost.
