"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

I am getting this error during the domain prep page. Before to this error there appeared the below warning message. I think this warning message is not the cause for failure.

---------------------------
Microsoft Exchange Installation Wizard

The domain "destest.com" has been identified as an insecure domain for mail-enabled groups with hidden DL membership.  Hidden DL membership will be exposed to members of the built-in "Pre-Windows 2000 Compatible Access" security group.  This group may have been populated during the promotion of the domain with the intent of allowing permissions to be compatible with pre-Windows 2000 servers and application.  To secure the domain, remove any unnecessary members from this group.

Hi deshaw,

Are you installing Exchange on a DC? In any case, take a look at this article on installing exchange servers.
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb123643(EXCHG.65).aspx .Most issues with installing Exchange are related to permissions so make sure that the account you're using has the correct permissions in your environment.

As for your second posting, take a look at this article http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;834639

Hope that helps you.
