Names not appearing in global address list

A variation on an old problem -
We have a new user whose name is not appearing in the Global address list for some users.

When the user clicks on the 'To' box in the new message ot bring up the address book, the name in question is not there, but it is for other users.

We are using Exchange 2003 with Outlook 2003.

She can find it using Advanced find.

The 'Hide from Global Address list box is not ticked in AD'

Another check to make after that, is whether 'Cached Exchange Mode' is enabled for this particular user. If it is enabled (to check close Outlook, go to Start > Settings > Control Panel > Mail > Email Accounts > View or Change Existing, and see if 'Cached Exchange Mode' is ticked under the Exhcange account. (You'll need to click 'Modify' on the Exchange account to see this), try unticking the box, reopening Outlook, and check the address list to see if the address has appeared.

That would point more towards the OAL instead of the GAL... Let me know! :)

That's beautiful, thanks mate, she has Business Contact Manager, so it was in CEM,so I switched it off and on and voila.  What's the update time on that, the user was created yesterday, so I would have thought it would have updated by now.

Yeah, I don't know the exact frequency it updates, but 24hrs is enough time to wait.

Next time you can also try downloading the address book manually - The option to 'Download Address Book' is in the Tools Menu, under Send/Recieve I THINK! This would probably have also fixed the problem...
