asked on

What are overlays and how do I enable them

Hi Experts,

I have a PC with a TV-Card installed.  I use this PC to watch TV on.  Recently my NVidia Display Card died which means that I had to revert back to the PC's onbard display.  I have an Intel DB865 mainboard.

My problem is that I can't watch TV anymore.  I use a program called Asus EzVCR.FM to get the vidio from the TV-Card.  When opening this application, I get an error message that reads "DirectDraw Device does not support overlays".

I do not use this PC for anything other than watching TV and therefor I really do not want to buy another display card just for this!!!!!!

Is there anything I can do to get around this?

Thanks

Did you (re) install the drivers of the On-Board Graphics Card?

ASKER

The drivers for my graphics card are installed.

Should the onboard graphics of the Intel DB865 mainboard be able to support overlays?
Could you make a SiSoftSandra report?

Attach the report to your next reply :)
Doing it right now!
You'll need to make a hardware scan, then when its done copy it to the clipboard, paste it into a text file and attach it :)
