What folder is the email in?

HI, I must have moved the contents of a sub-folder into the wrong folder (I have TONS of sub-folders) and can't locate the folder within my archive file.

If I do a search for the emails, I can find them, so I know I haven't deleted them, but it's just I want to track down where they are now, and move them all to the correct sub-folder.

In my search results, how do I find out where an email is currently located/saved?

Thanks!

If you aren't connected to an exchange server, outlook stores it's data in the file "outlook.pst" in your user profile under "Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook". These folders are read only, so you will have to make sure your folder options are set to display hidden files and folders.

HI Rindi - thanks for prompt reply. I know about the .pst file, but it's actually finding out which folder the emails are stored in within outlook itself I'm talking about....

When you have the search folder with your mails right click the details at the top and select field choice.  From mail filelds add in folder and hopefully thats it.

HI Chris, I'm using Outlook 2003... I don't get those options. Field Chooser doesn't offer me a 'folder' option...

Right click the drop down at the top, select all mail fields and the 'in folder' should be available.
