Crystal Reports total columns by group.

I have a Crystal Report in Visual Studio 2005, that prints data and groups it by customer number.  I would like to total two of the columns at the end of each grouping.  I tried to use a summary field, however, that doesn't give a sum of the column.  It gives everything else you could possibly want but not a sum.  How can I sum these columns?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

It sounds like the column is not a numeric type.

If you put the field on the report in the detail section and right click and click INSERT SUMARY what options do you have for the summary types?

If it is so , Please check the filed you want to total is repeaded ( you get repeated data ) in details field.

It sounds like the field is not a numeric field but rather a string of numbers.  Try creating a formula like

You should be able to summarize the formula
