told that if i make an update to the xml template i need to restart IIs is this the case? is there
any way around this? if i restart IIs all the other websites on my server will be offline.
how can i get around the restart, if I have to restart why is that?

Thanks. I wasn't expecting that answer to be accepted. Depending upon the service, if it can load the templates upfront and then check to see if they have been altered on each request (or if that is too high, once an hour or once every 100 requests), then the new ones can be loaded.
