I created the journal mailbox in exchange so I could demo a GFI product.  I now want to see how to view the journal in exchange without any 3rd party tool.  I tried to add the "journal" mailbox to my exchange, but it didnt like the mailbox name "journal".  I also tried to login as SA and create a new outlook profile, but again, didnt like the name journal.  I also logged in to windows as journal - same result.  I am just trying to view sent/received emails that have already been deleted by the user.  The journal has been on for a while now, its over 6gb in size.

Unhide the journal from the outlook addressbook;

Find the journaling account in AD, right click, Properties, exchange advanced, "Hide from exchange address lists"

I saw that it was hidden - but I don't want the "journal" to show up when people click the TO button to select a user - isn't that what that box is for?
