"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

The BlackBerry excels at putting you in touch with the people around you. BlackBerrys are made for people who communicate in their business or personal lives primarily through email. The Pearl is no different. You can easily go to RIMs website and set up your personal and business email accounts. The BlackBerry service allows for up to 10 IMAP or POP3 email services to be configured. Within second of configuring your e-mail services online, you BlackBerry lights up with all the new mail items. Its magic!

Does this help?

That is the what I am trying to avoid.  I do not want to have to use any additional software.  So my question is can I use a Blackberry Pearl and sync to an Exchange server with no additional software, so from what you are saying, I am gathering the answer is NO?  If that a correct assumption?

No you should be able to connect to your account online and configure pop and imap acounts (pop for yahoo imap for aol for example) accounts.  Then rim will poll those accounts every few minutes and foward you anything it finds.

additionally I have found RIMs customer service (at least on the corporate side) to be very nice and well trained.  Addionially they are located in the US (only added this because I know some poeple don't like support that is not).

They can help you with the specific settings in your online account to set that up.

It will not sync unless you have blackberry enterprise server. If you set it up through blackberry internet service it will only download messages to the blackberry. If you delete a message on the blackberry it will not delete it on exchange.
