Can you delete a mailbox from store without deleting the user?

Ok,

Is it possible to remove the users mailbox from the store without removing the user. Remove it, then get the the user to reopen outlook and thus recreate the mailbox?

Wishful thinking I know, but is something like that possible?

Reason I ask, is because mailbox for two users is completely messed up, but removing the users and having to recreate all their profiles and that like will be a nightmare when its only the mailbox thats messed up.

TIA

Matt

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Right click on the user account, exchange tasks, delete mailbox - wait 2 minutes - right click on the user account again, exchange tasks, establish mailbox.

Done, a clean mailbox.

I tend to do this from Exchange System Manager
I find the mailbox, right click, exchange tasks and delete. The mailbox will be marked with a Red Cross and you will need to right click and purge the mailbox to permanently delete it.

That will work too.  I will usually not purge it though, but let it expire by itself (you never know...)
