"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

that balloon pops up just to let you know that it's still working. it pops up after a certain period of time (not sure how long) so that you know it's still doing something as opposed to looking like it's hung up. It appears you have a slow link to your exchange server.

yes,..second after that ballon pops change to LOST CONECCTION and 2 sencod after have again connection and the mail arraive to de mailbox, one more thing, the mailbox have 2 gigas on exchange server and at the cliente outlook 2007 dont have checked USE CACHE enable.

Ultimately, I think I'd check on your network connection. There might be a problem looming. The "use cached mode" option just makes it so that Outlook keeps an OST file locally. If it's a desktop, I don't use it as it seems it takes longer for it to work with mail.

Is your exchange server local or are you connecting to it over a WAN link??
