Email messages being delivered to users store but not appearing in Outlook

Have one user who has mail that, according to message tracking, is being deliverd to her store locally but not appearing in her outlook, OWA or Outlook 2003. The final event of the tracking result is "SMTP Store Driver: Message delivered locally to store to....." with the correct users email address.  The Outlook junkmail filter is turned off. It is inconsistent as far as what appears in outlook and what doesn't ie email from a person may appear one day and the next time they send, it won't.
It is only 1 user out of 80 users having issues. We are running exchange 2003 SP2 with Outlook 2003. Surely this is something simple.......help greatly appreciated

Have you checked the rules from within the Outlook client? Perhaps its being permanently deleted as it arrives..

If you also right click on the mailbox you can get the local size of the mailbox and the size of the mailbox on the server. Are there any discrepencies?
Also, if you click on 'Folder View' are there any Sync errors?

Should I just use Scanost.exe or can I simply delete the OST file and start cahed mode again? Strangely, the OST is larger and contains more files than Exchange but it is on the local PC that items are missing.

Hi

You could simply delete the Outlook profile and set it up again. However, re-reading your initial post, it seems you have logged into OWA which is directly associated with the mailbox.

If you do want to clear up the Outlook for clarity of mind, you may want to try wiping the profile and turning off cached mode for testing.

Ok,
I ran the Scanost.exe and it turned up 1 sync error for a 1 email...mmmmmm. Deleted the current mail profile and created another not running in cached mode. No change in that the emails supposedly delivered to store have not reappeared. I should point out that the user is running Outlook 2007 just to get the facts straight. Getting the user to send herself emails from other external accounts that have previously not appeared.

The test emails have come through but as I said, it has been inconsistent so not sure if the changes have had an effect. The previous emails that had not appeared have still not reappeared. Have just spoken to user regarding the junk mail filter which I had her check when I was helping her remotely and there is a good chance that the setting to permanently delete junkmail was selected and it was on 'high' previously so that would explain a few things!!
