setting boundries for a start drag

I've created a start drag command for a movie clip. Usually I would set the boubdries for the drag in the start drag command itself ie ("_root.myMovie" true, 100, 200 , 0, 400) the only rpoblem I have is that this movie clip will also be x and y scaled by users, meaning that putting boundires on the movie clip will conflict with its dynamic growth. Instead I think I need to scan to when the mouse is over the boundrie areas that I want to block out. I've used the following code but it's not being picked up. Does anyone have any ideas? thnx in advance

_root.onMouseDown = function() {
      if (_xmouse < 90 && _xmouse > 307 && _ymouse < 70 && _ymouse > 164) {;}
}; = function () {;} = function () {
startDrag( "", false);}

Had a play with it and it doesn't work until split into separate if statements..also it needs an onEnterFrame function to moniter the mouse position..
Z = function() {
} = function() {
this.onEnterFrame = function(){
      if (_xmouse < 90 ) {
    } if (_xmouse > 307){
    } if (_ymouse < 70){
    } if (_ymouse > 164){
