Is there any other web proxy solution like CGIProxy ?
Hello. I'm kind of frustrated with CGIProxy ( http://www.jmarshall.com/tools/cgiproxy/ )
It breaks alot of pages I visist...and youtube and flash, in general, won't show up...Is there any other cgi web proxy solution that I can run on Apache to just straight up forward everything ?

alain34,
eh phproxy doesn't do youtube well either in my experience...perhaps you know how to tweak phproxy or cgiproxy to work with it ?
ahoffman,
because I wouldn't have access to most sites like youtube without a proxy

very informative! Thanks.
If you want a proxy, you're free to use another one, there're infintite anonymous proxies in the wild.

ahoffmann,
I'm running CGIProxy on my Apache web server. I don't like it because youtube doesn't come through well(the videos don't play). I asked for a solution other than CGIProxy or perhaps even a fix to CGIProxy that would let me use youtube. Alain34 very prompt in replying with PHProxy as a solution. You ask me why I need a proxy, I respond because I wouldn't have access to youtube without a proxy. Is that so hard to understand that you'd go ahead and be very rude and misquote me with this mess:

I OBVIOUSLY don't know of any which can serve as an alternative to CGIProxy on my Apache web server..
...sheesh.....you're not very nice!!!

hmm, my comment wasn't meant as offence, I'm just wondering that you gave the question as answer.
I'm asking "why" to get closer to your problem. Probably there exist another solution than CGIproxy. But if you won't tell us, you have to find your own solution, it's up to you ...

I'm sorry. I don't understand your question ?...Why what ? Why I won't I just not use a proxy ? As I said, because I need a proxy to go to youtube.com . And yes it's possible for me to use a proxy server and not a web proxy...but that's not what I want to do...I want a CGI solution running on my Apache server. I hope this makes sense.
still don't see a reason for your CGI solution
Anyway, why can you not use squid as proxy instead?

OMG......never ...mind -.-
why would you use a proxy then? Just get rid of it :)
Or do I miss something in your question?
