FADE PARENT PAGE ON POPUP WINDOW

Hi,
I would like to open a popup window from an aspx page. When the popup window opens I would like to apply a fade effect on the parent page.So the parent on the background fades out but it does not dissapear.Like applying a "tint".When The popup window is closed I would like the parent page to return to the previous appearance.I am just wondering if there is any way to do this with JavaScript?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Are you wanting the contents of the page to fade, or the whole window.

If its the whole window, then transparent windows is the feature and you will need to build an activex for the job.

But if its the contents you want to fade, look into the individual browser features as they are different.

I've seen that done in some website but unfortunately can't remember where.I'll keep looking.I'm pretty sure that you don't have to go down the activex road.I'll find out where that example was and send you the link.Thank you.
