how to compare to office files using subversion and tortoiseSVN

hi all,
I'm using fedora core 4 and subversion 1.2 as svn server and tortoisesvn and windows xp ans svn client and I've questions that I need your help in:
does there is a way that make subversion and tortoisesvn make compare (diff command) between two microsoft office files (word, excel )
I hope you can help me in that it's a major necessity because my company is working using office and that would help greatly in that

a meaningful compare of word files would be fery hard - if you save them as .txt (1 line per paragraph) you might achieve something useful. Probably better to use Word's built-in revision feature

does that integrate with subversion ?can you please give me more details?

No it doesn't integrate with subversion. It's in the View menu of word - changes show in red. As far as rcs, cvs, subversion or whatever are concerned, word files are binary and every new revision has to be stored in its entirety
