Automatic certificate enrollment for local system failed to enroll for one Domain Controller certificate (0x800706ba). The RPC server is unavailable.

Domain information:
Single domain:  school.com
Server infomration: Windows Server 2003 - Standard Service pack 1
-Additional domain controllers: windows server 2003 enterprise r2

Clients: Windows XP Pro - sp2

Problem:
Joined new workstation to the domain (no problems)
upon reboot when logging in as a domain user get "Domain controller was unavailable"

Checking event logs for the dc @ the site I found the following errors:
Application log:
Automatic certificate enrollment for local system failed to enroll for one Domain Controller certificate (0x800706ba).  The RPC server is unavailable.

Automatic certificate enrollment for local system failed to renew one Domain Controller certificate (0x800706ba).  The RPC server is unavailable.

Directory service:
This directory partition has not been backed up since at least the following number of days.
 
No recent events in DNS Server or File replication service logs

Yes, after a few tries of joining it to the domain and or changing the name of the workstation and retrying it works.  It's an intermittent problem.  I'm not 100% sure the error listed above is related to the problem.  This is the only site that seems to be having the problem.  This site only has one DC.  

I was able to join other workstations to the domain.  I was also able to add the same workstation I was having problems with this afternoon.  Thanks for the help... I will check out the links.  Please let me know if you have any additional help.
