How to create a shape that is transparent across all layers

I have 3 layers of images.
I want to create a circle that is transparent across all layers (sort of a hole).
Any advice?

If I understand you, you want to have the effect of punching a hole through three layers.

Well, the easiest way is to use your circle marquee to draw your circle and erase the content on each layer, one at a time, without moving the marquee selection.

The next easiest way is to use your circle marquee to draw your circle, then inverse your selection  (Shift+Ctrl+I) then add a layer mask to each layer. When you turn a selection into a mask in PS7, the selection goes away each time. You can go to the layers pallet, select the mask layer, load it as a selection, and return to your next layer and make another mask,

or you could make a path and load the path as a shape each time. One way is as good as another.

Those are the only two methods that I can think of for PS 7

Hope this works for you.
