Outlook Journal not recording network files

I have a network with a server (Server 2003) running MS Exchange (honestly don't know what version, but its not 2007) and two PCs.  One PC is running Office/Outlook 2003, and the other Office/Outlook 2007.  Using the same email accounts in Outlook in 2003 and 2007, network files do not record in the Outlook journal on the PC running 2007.  The 2003 machine works fine for recording network files.  Both machines will record in the journal files accessed from the respective hard drives, or external hard drives connected via USB.  But only the machine running 2003 suite will record network files in the journal.  Any ideas on how to correct the issue with journal recording of network files on the 2007 suite machine?

I am also having this same issue and so far have not found a work around or way to enable this feature. I have heard some rumors that this feature was disabled by microsoft.

Ok just spent about 3.5 hours on the phone with Microsoft Outlook support, turns out that problem is a known issue within Outlook 2007, it is something that is scheduled to resolved via a hard fix in the next Office Update service pack which will be service pack 2 for Office. Estimated time of roll out is about a month so hopefully by the begining of April.

I was on the phone with Outlook support a few times a few weeks ago and no one mentioned the upcoming fix.  I'll wait for the fix - thanks for saving me the 3.5 hours on the phone - I owe you!

Any update on the fix?  I can't believe they disabled this feature on a business application suite.

I also have this problem.  Anyone know if fix ever came out.  Office 2007 SP1 does not fix it.

Were M$ able to advise a work around ?
It's a problem with Office07 as we have both Outlook2003 & Outlook2007 users, all with Office2007 and network files dont journal for any.

And it's a pain when I need to fill out my timesheet !

I am not aware of a work around, but I haven't called MS in a while to discuss.  I was waiting for SP2 to be released b/c SUPPOSEDLY that had a fix in it.  I agree that its an 07 problem; I'm using 03 and 07 in my network, with no problems on the 03 machines.

what a pain - I don't understand
