I hate to be a wet blanket, but before you do this you should check the terms of service for the google APIs

"Subject to the limitations and conditions described in the terms of service, You may use the API to display the Content in conjunction with other information You provide to end users. You may not access, reproduce, or use the Content for any other purpose."

i.e. you may only display it on your web site. not add it to your printed material

"The Service may be used only for services that are generally accessible to consumers without charge."

Thank you mohammedf for the useful links.

Thank you rweil for the info. Our customer would like to have a map embedded in the PDF document generated by the application, so we are seeking for an answer is that possible or not. I suppose that there are some services available for exporting map as an image and adding it into the PDF document. Of course, we are looking only for legal solution (free or not free of charge).

Did someone exported maps as images and reused them afterwards in the application? Maybe Google Maps does not support what we need, but maybe there are some other service on the net which can provide such functionalitu.

One possibility is the USGS topographic maps. They are freely available. The advantage is they have more detail than a road map and elevations . The disadvantage is that they are not the normal road map that users are familiar with.

These maps are general free from various state agencies. I do not have the URLs handy, but can find it for you if you are interested.

If you are not familiar with topo maps check out http://www.topozone.com/.  You can print their maps for personal use/non-commercial, so they are not a map source for your problem, but they can show you what a topo map is.
