Connecting Cisco Router to home cable modem

I have just completed my CCNA and just finished ISCW of my CCNP, I have a cisco 870 router and would like to connect it to my home cable modem (my isp is rogers in canada) to replace my linksys and also be able to play around on it and setup vpn's and so on and so on. My question is my ISP is assigning me an ip dynamically and it will change every now and then. How do i setup the router interface for a dynamic ip, I am able to do it with a static IP but that is not an option in this case.

thanks in advance.

You can use DHCP on the interface connected to the cable modem.

conf t
int e0
ip address dhcp

The router should also install a default route based on the DHCP gateway option learned from your ISP.  Configure NAT and you should be able to connect to the Internet from the inside.
