the printer clock is not staying in sync and resets when printer is restarted

im trying to set the date/time for fax cover page when sending faxes on my dell all in one 964.
it works fine in general but the date/time is never correct!
im able to update printer date/time using its menu, but the clock does not seem to update. when i restart the printer, the time/date reverts back to system default.
all the other printer settings for fax/print etc are fine.

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

I didn't see anything specific regarding this issue on Dell's support pages.  I'd suggest chatting with a dell service tech:

Well, I do a lot of support with Dell items, and I couldn't find anything in their support forums, faqs, etc.  When that happens, I head to their tech chat.  I really haven't found it that much of a pain to deal with.

You're welcome to keep the question open in case another expert has run across this same issue and has the fix for you.

Ouch!  Wish I could just pop out a quick fix for you.  Any chance you could pull up their chat windows while at work and see what suggestions they offer?  I know they will want you at the unit, but you never know.

i work for a big company. its pretty well locked down.
I was able to get a chat session going twice but the other side could not see my text? so i kept getting disconnected as if i wasnt responding.
I will chat dell again and just wait it out.
