I have this problem as well, on an HP laptop. Anyone else come up with a fix?

ditto:.. msi logs point to the vpn virtual adaptor installer.. my specific point of failure is
Product: Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client -- Error 1722. There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program run as part of the setup did not finish as expected. Contact your support personnel or package vendor.  Action VACon_ndis6_Install, location: C:\Program Files\Cisco\Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client\VACon.exe, command: -install "C:\Program Files\Cisco\Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client\vpnva-6.inf" VPNVA

I"ve tried this  ifcleanupx86 from microsoft that supposedly cleans up too many network entries  (https://supportforums.cisco.com/discussion/11682811/anyconnect-msi-installation-failed-windows-7) to no avail.
now at 5.5 hrs of troubleshooting this
