Offline Files unable to merge offline changes on [path] the parameter is incorrect

I have a user who synchronizes her My Documents to the server.

She keeps getting a balloon that says "offline changes not synchronized"

Then when she clicks on it, it tries to synchronize and then says "Unable to merge offline changes on [path to folder on the server] The parameter is incorrrect.

It then has a window that says "need to synchronize, one file modified offline"

She is on Windows XP using Windows Server 2003

Can you browse the file server when that happens?

Perhaps the client is unable to contact the file server with the central copy of the files?

Most likely there is corruption in the CSC....

Browse the Offline Files FOlder, for the modified Offline file, and see if it is a needed file. If so, open i and save it to the desktop. Then reinitialize the Offline Database ONE files are all tagged as Synchronized..

Or....

suggest extracting all of the files in the Client Side Cache, and then remove them all from the network.

thanks for your help.

I could browse to the network share, but when I looked at the details I found the file that was not synchronized. There was a column that told me which ones were and which ones weren't.

It was the a log file that wouldn't sync. I copied that to the desktop, and deleted it from my docs. Then it synched fine.

There are warnings that say certain files aren't able to be worked on offline. Why is that?

Certain extensions cant be synchronized, was it one of the following from the below KB article?

Error message: "Files of this type cannot be made available offline"

I get it. That's makes sense. They don't want those files to get corrupted because they're database files.

Clarification please.  Re-initialization steps have you delete the files in the Offline Files Folder.  Your answer also stated to "then remove them all from the network".  So, the CSC is empty, and the network location is empty, right?  Then you want me to copy all of the files in C:\extractedFiles back to the network share?
