VSS Failed to make shadow copy with Event ID 12310 "Timed out" on SBS server 2003

Server specs:
Intel SSR212MC2R Storage server
Using onboard SATA RAID for OS, 2 x 120GB 2.5" Seagate HDs RAID1
8 x 1TB Seagate drives in RAID5 for storage on an SRCSAS144E Intel RAID Controller

Windows disk configuration
Disk0: OS Drive
Disk1: Storage array, dynamic volume of 6.5TB total space.

I would like to enable shadow copies for the data on Disk1, however, every time a shadow copy is attempted, I get this event in the Application log:

I've only ever made one successful shadow copy almost a month ago, but have not been able since then, with this error.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.
