Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

You would like the BackgroundWorker class.  It is available in the Toolbox and all you have to do is drag it onto your GUI.  Here is a nice tutorial on how to implement it:

Good luck!

Hi,

Where to put the process function/procedure?

Thank you.

If what you're talking about is the procedure that you would like to perform in the background, it would be put in the DoWork event.

Example:
Private Sub BackgroundWorker1_DoWork(ByVal sender As System.Object, ByVal e As System.ComponentModel.DoWorkEventArgs) Handles BackgroundWorker1.DoWork

    'Do work here

End Sub
