TV Tuner scanning - No Signal

I have a new TV Tuner PCI card that I am trying to setup but when I scan for channels it finds nothing, no signal, 0 channels.

I am in the UK, this is supposedly a Freeview TV Tuner card. What am I doing wrong?

TV Tuner: DVB-T EC188 BDA Digital Tuner
Software: Blaze HDTV Player 2.5a

Is the correct driver installed?  I am wondering if the pc sees the card as a tuner.   Are you getting fuzz?

I think Windows should see it as a tuner card if the card's drivers are installed.  It sounds like it just sees it as a regular video card.

In the quick installation guide it shows that the card should appear in the section sound, video and game controllers

Just to get the one stupid question out of the way .. have you plugged the card into the aerial feeding your TV before using Blaze to tune?

make sure the software sees the card in the device settings.

I used to have a different tv card in the PC and bought this one to replace it because the old one was analog and could only get 5 channels whereas this new card is digital and can supposedly receive all freeview UK channels (something like 32 channels)

The old card worked ok & I uninstalled the drivers and software for it before installing this one in the same slot

Try installing the card in a different slot, you could also take it back for a replacement as it could be faulty.

If the card is designed for digital stations, they will be on a different frequency than analog.  Check your software for an option to scan different ranges.  Also note that digital stations may be broadcasting from different locations than the analog, so if you don't have good reception, you won't be able to see them.  You should check for availability of those channels in your area and whether your location has good reception.
