Exchange folder mail forwarding problem

I have a public folder setup to receive emails from an address called sales@domain.com.au which stores the email, autoresponds to the sender and forwards a copy to a distribution group called sales_enquiries@domain.com.au.

Everything is working fine but when we open the attachment from its final destination - (clients computer) we get the error "Operation failed.  The object could not be found".

The way the forwarding is setup I am not sure but it doesnt have any forwarding addresses on the folder, I assume it was set up as a rule somewhere but I am stumped if I can find it.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Yes, the forwarding is happening in exchange. I'd be looking at the clients PC, what happens on another?
What is the client program to access it? Outlook? and the attachment your opening? or is it the email itself? What about OWA, tried that?

All clients have the same problem. We use Outlook 2003 to access it, and all attachments have the same problem (i.e the error).  The email itself looks fine the attachment is on the email but just not accessible. OWA is the same however no error is reported.  If I open a zip file from OWA it shows the file as being empty.

so, what your saying is that even through webmail the zip is unreadable...

Sounds like its a dodgy email to begin with..

Do you run any anti virus / malware solution on your server, some actually delete the message midstream and leave you an email with an empty attachement...

Are you able to get the email sent to your account, or an external test account to test it?
