Freezing problem on random conditions

I'm having an issue with Internet Explorer 7. It was working just perfectly until a couple of weeks ago, now I have a constant problem, when I open it, when I scroll pages, when I open new tabs, it freezes for something between 3 and 6 seconds, system is working fine, nothing else freezes.
After a few seconds it goes right back to normal.
Let's rule out some stuff.
-I didn't install new software or drivers, but just to make sure I already uninstalled useless stuff from the computer
-I already tried to reset IE7, didn't work
-I already tried safe mode, same problem
-I tried removing addons I don't need, nothing changed
-Cpu DOES NOT skyrocket it's just IE7 that feels bad in those moments, rest of the computer is just fine
-Ever since this happened I'm experiencing a slow down on my Outlook Express as well, a fair size slow down
-Programs that might be involved in the issue as far as I know, might be my NOD32 or my AiRoboForms, do realize that they have been installed on my computer for quite some time before the this problem started and never gave me trouble.

Any ideas?
Who is Participating?
I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

I would first try to remove IE7 and see if there are still problems with outlook express.  If everything turns back to normal, reinstall IE7.

Tried...apparently IE7 is not the REAL issue, because after the downgrade to IE6 I'm still having the same exact problem...looks like something in my windows caught a cold....any suggestions?
If you have windows defender installed, look at the IE BHO's for possible problems.  If you don't have defender, download it from Microsoft.

no problems found...
I'm so close to giving up and formatting, but I deeply wish I could avoid that...
last thing that came to my you think that Windows Desktop Search might have anything to do with this issue?
If you already tried in safe mode, then Desktop Search would have already been disabled.  Install and post your hijackthis report.

Try this first and I will keep looking at the log file.
Launch IE 7 without the add-ons by clicking Start->All Programs->Accessories->System Tools->Internet Explorer (No Add-Ons)
I don't see anything that terrible or that would be causing that particular problem.  I would recommend installin over the top (the repair install).  Then you don't need to format.  I would, however, uninstall IE7 first.  There could be corruption in a system or dll file that was re-written when IE7 was installed and is not being corrected.  Another method could be to go to the command prompt and type "sfc /scannow".  You will need your OS disk, but it will check your system files and replace if needed.

I did the No Add-Ons
I reinstalled
I did the scan......

I'm desperate, it simply doesn't make sense to me...specially since 2 weeks ago everything was fine, hard drive is not damaged, file system is defragged........should I just cry and hope?
Do not give up hope yet... Still doing some research and testing.
