try, think its write permissions to a directory, are you installing with admin rights?

Start Windows Explorer.
Browse to C:\Program Files\Common Files\Install Shield.
Right-click on the \Install Shield folder.
Click on Rename on the shortcut menu.
Rename the folder to C:\Program Files\Common Files\OLD_InstallShield.
Press the Enter key.
Close Windows Explorer.
Reboot into normal Windows.
If that doesn't help - try checking out the setup.exe version of your app - and apply the necessary update for the version of Installshield:

I am yet to get rid of this problem. There were 2 installables - one calling another. 1 of them had version 6 and the other had version 11. so i installed driver of both 6 and 11. still no luck.

Any other Possiblity.. will there be a possiblity that file might have got corrupted????

Clear them all out you might have to use windows clean up utility

Once you have remove it all then try starting again and just use the latest install and driver, if its ocmpatible with yor build

forgot to mention that you have to shudown and then switch on your computer after msconfig and before running the setup again
Oh you may need to turn oyour Av off as well before you run the install
If this file was downloaded - it could have gotten corrupted.
Clear out your IE temp cache, and download it again (if this applies in this circumstance)
Thank you so much for all the responses.

I am still get the error i was talking about.

- I tried installing the cleanup utility
- I used MSconfig to stop all the services, shutdown and restart.
- I checked with my friends and they say that software is working fine in facility's PC.
- I tried all the options mentioned by you folks. No luck so far

Am not sure how to proceed further.
