NIC settings not displaying

I have a dell 2950 server that is running as a file server.  It has two built in NIC's, one is disabled at the software level.  The other is active and working.  I put in a static IP along with DNS, and WINS ect.  It appears to be holding the information because it displays if you do an IPCONFIG /ALL but if you look at it within windows it says the NIC is set to use DHCP and none of the other settings are filled in.

Hello cfische4,

Start > run > Devmgmt.msc {enter}
Locate both othe the network card right click each and select delete
Reboot the server they will autodetect and reinstall them

An easier way to clean the registry of NIC info is to use netsh.  Just use:

netsh interface ip reset reset.txt

The results of the cleanup will be sent to the reset.txt file.

Thanks, this server is in a remote office so I will not be able to try this for some time but its sounds logical.  Thanks again.
Cool... if that doesn't do the trick, call Dell Enterprise Expert Center so we can do some troubleshooting with you on this...
I too am having this issue. After following your instructions, you mention running the install.exe. Where do I get that? From the Dell site or directly from Broadcom, can you tell me the file name in question, Dell
site shows 3 driver files for Broadcom.
