no terminal server licence server is available in the current domain or workgroup

Hi,

I have just installed terminal services on a new windows 2003 server. I currently have another server called ibm235 setup as the licencing server. I am trying to connect to this via terminal server licencing however I am receiving the below error:

No terminal server licence server is available in the current domain or workgroup. I have also tried to connect manually with Action - Connect option but receive the same error. I have tried inputting the name of the server and also the ip address but same error. I am on the same network and subnet and can ping this licencing server both by name and ip from the newly installed server.

Does anyone have any ideas what it could be??

Hi,

The reason it wasn't finding the terminal server was as you say domain related. ibm235 is a domain controller but i was logging onto the new server locally and not logging onto the domain. Once i logged onto the new server as domain it found the terminal server straight away!! Thanks :)
