OWA visible in Firefox, not Internet Explorer

I got OWA 2003 to work on a Front-end server in our network.  Two problems.

1.  Works in Firefox, but no images - everything (borders/menus) is plain white.
2.  Does not work in Microsoft Internet Explorer - images come up but right pane just says loading.

can you browse to it from the server     http:/servername/exchange ?

no, everything says "Loading..."
check properties on in IIS on exchange virtual folder and go to directory security.
Check to see if it is set to deny with only a couple exceptions.  if that is ok I would start looking into permissions a little.

I figured out that MIExplorer 5 and later uses a "rich" request and all others use a "reach" request for OWA;  being that we are waiting for our SSL cert, the requests are http and are probably being scanned by the firewall and that is what is screwing up the MS part.

Firefox and Opera work but images do not come through.  I put permissions on the Exchweb folder for read/write/execute for auth. users.  Didn't work.  I'll look at your suggestion Casedog.
did you try getting to it through ssl?

https://yourserver/exchange?

ssl cert not in...waiting on it.

Casedog,

Help me understand what you mean by the Ex. Virtual folder...which is that?
it the the folder under default websites in IIS.  You can skip past the ssl errors on IE when they come up.  It will send the server root cert out to the clients until you change that.

I think the firewall is denying the http and only letting the https in - 'cause it works inhouse, and these firewalls are really 'locked down'

ok, so i'll check the folders under 'Default Websites'
very well could be.  If it works inside then definately start looking at your fire wall.

https works now; still have original issue boooo
do you have the require ssl on the virtual directories?
Avatar of ikeepon

ASKER

yes

SSL now enabled.  Can access via inhouse and outside.

Back to Drawing Board.  IE states loading/Firefox-Opera looks ugly.

MODS - Please close.

Exchange folder from existing server was copied over to frontend server - version mismatch of some files between the two servers.  Everything works fine now.
