Can't access sharepoint site externally

Hi Folks,

I have only recently made the sharepoint site with our SBS 2003 standard available to users who are recieving it well. However, I cant seem to get access to the site externally. When I browse to the server from outsite and select 'My Company's Internal Web Site' it redirects to 'http://comanyweb' which obviously wont resolve. I have the following ports being forwarded to 192.168.0.10 via our firewall - 80,443,25,3899,1723,444 & 4125.

Where am I going wrong?

IPCONFIG ALL from the server.....

What else do I need to provide to help solve this?

Hey,

You know what, the configuration was actually ok all the time. It was the way I was trying to access it was the problem. I was going to http://server.domain.com were you have a link from that page. Why doesnt the link from that page work?
That link is for internal clients only.  It also contains the link to the Network Configuration Wizard which also is for internal users only.

I'm guessing the idea is that users shouldnt be able to access the intranet without first logging in to Remote Web Workplace to make the site more secure.
That makes sense I guess, can that page be disabled for external connections?
You could always delete or rename default.htm from C:\Inetpub\wwwroot.  This will stop the page from loading internally as well though.

I've never had to disable that page from external access as I have never considered it a security risk as it only has 4 links on it.  Two of them point to internal pages that wont work externally. The others are a link to Remote Web Workplace and an Information & Answers section which doesnt contain anything but standard help files.
