Intermittent printing through Terminal Services using native printing

We have a Windows 2003 Server Enterprise Edition x64 running Terminal Services for a customer of ours.  They want to do native printing from the Terminal Server (TS).  So we added all their print drivers to the TS, now they seem to have intermittent problems with an HP LaserJet 1020.  All the workstations they are printing from are Windows XP Pro x86.  The printer in question is connected to one computer via USB, and the rest of the computers are connected via printer sharing on the network.

Now the issue is that some computers print fine.  Others, when you hit print, add some sort of 53 byte job before the actual job and it seems to lock up there.  Has anyone seen or heard of this?

NOTE: I'm not that familiar with native printing.  Our main TS cluster is using TriCerat Simplify printing to take care of customers print issues.

Hey Matt -

No issues on splitting points but apache090's answer wont help.  Its a driver issue.
Host based drivers break the print spooler subsystem

Agreed,

The HP laser Jet 1020 is not supported, Only the HP LaserJet 1022.
