Screen Resolution Problems

Redhat Enterprise Linux 5 is installed on our Dell PowerEdge 2900 III server.  The only two screen resolutions that appear are 640x400 and 800x600.  When Windows was installed on this server, I had the resolution at 2048x1024.  Under System > Preferences > Display, only 640x400 and 800x600 appear, nothing else.  I tried editing /etc/x11/x11.conf to add "1024x768" and "2048x1024" as resolution types but that didn't work.  The Dell site for drivers and downloads does not show any video drivers for Redhat Enterprise 5.  So, I'm lead to believe there are none.  But there must be some way to change the resolution so it doesn't hurt my eyes so much, no?

Corrections...

The change was to /etc/x11/xorg.conf and the two resolutions were 640x480 and 800x600.  Also, under System > Administration > Display, the video card shown is the ATI Technologies Inc ES1000.  I don't know if this is the actual card that is installed though.  It is the video port embedded on the motherboard.  At support.dell.com, I put in the service tag of this server, 3RTKDF1, and under the original system configuration, there is no mention of a video card.
