I had tried the cntrl break but that just locks up the hyperterm window.
I have a sun keyboard connected because it would not boot without one.
So don't know what to try next.
Thanks
Forgot to mention that the cntrl-break produces a tilde backslash on the screen
Thanks
Is there a way to make the console window ttya?
I disabled the keyboard and was able to disconnect it but the cntrl break still does not work.
could you tell me what else to try or suggest a video card I could put in this box?

To be able to use serial port dump terminal, from ok prompt run:

setenv input-device ttya
setenv output-device ttya
I would do that but I can't get to the OK prompt from hyperterm

omarfarid,
I have tried the ctrl break/pause key and every other combination I can think of and nothing works.
That is why I asked about getting a video card for this machine.
thanks
What about the key position on the front ?
The key position on the front?  Not sure what you mean.
The front of this box has a reset button and a power button.
On the back is an on/off switch as well
This thing looks like a pc tower
Since you did not mention the server model, I thought that you might have a system that comes with a secure key that can prevent system going to ok prompt if keyboard / terminal is disconnected or to ignore break signal.
I don't know what the server model is - how would I determine that?
Thanks
I finally figured out that the serial card in my pc does not work right.
I ordered on made to run in my dell pc so your suggestions should work when I get that.
Thanks for all the help
