Active Passive Orale 10g Cluster

If I have two Database Servers with Oracle 10g DB and I want to make an active/passive cluster so when node A is down node B will go and take over.

To achieve this scenario do I need RAC or not???

You don't need RAC.

You do it with RAC as well but it is more expensive!

ASKER

Thanks for your response, I do agree with you, I found that it can be done both ways but what are the advantages of using RAC in this scenario??

Hi Wael,
So what did you end up using - if not RAC?
I am looking for similar solution ...

Thanks
